List your ATX finds so far......

I am curios to hear about any and all finds so far with the New ATX. I know there have been a lot of videos showing what the ATX can do, but I'd love to hear more about actual results detecting out in the field. Looking forward to hearing back....

FYI, I just got my ATX today and am heading out in the morning to a nearby lake to try it out.

Very nice John! Did you find those water hunting?

Yes......mostly in freshwater. I also got about 4-5 chains, one being a very thin 10K. Coins give a nice stable signal in all directions.

Cool. I just got my ATX and tried it out in the yard. Was hoping to hit the lake today, but had family Christmas festivities that kept me busy. Planning on going to the lake tomorrow. ATX definitely gets heavy after awhile. I'll be using the sling for sure, if I'm out there for any length of time.

Well I finally got to the lake and got to use my ATX. WOW! What a machine!! I was only out there for about 2 hours and found a penny (2" Deep), an aluminum can (15" Depp and loud signal), bottle cap (12" Deep), 3 pull tabs (6-14" deep) and a hair clip (5" Deep). What I noticed was that operating the ATX in the water lighted the weight of using it. Time just few by while I was detecting as well. As long as I used the arm strap, I could move it around with little effort and was able to pinpoint targets easily. The coil definitely moves slower in the water due to the resistance of the water itself, but that actually helps from covering an area precisely. I was VERY impressed with the depth of the targets the ATX picked up and the strength of the signal. FYI, I was using my Amphibian Ghost Headphones and could hear targets loud and clear. Next time I'm bringing my shovel instead of only my aluminum scoop! I need the shovel to get to the deep targets better.

All in all, very happy with my purchase and can't wait to get back out again! My shoulder is a bit sore, but it's a good hurt! Lol

Found this ring yesterday... not sure what karat it is yet (looks like it was resized so the stamp is gone) but it is definitely gold and is 14.6 grams.

Mud

It could be a real star sapphire too Mud, I think I would be going to a jeweler on this one. Very nice find Scoop.

Awesome find!!! Do you find it water hunting?

I found a 27.4 gram Gold Basin meteorite a couple weeks ago. I posted the find on Youtube. Here is the link for anyone who missed it.....jim

I got out for a few hours this afternoon so that makes a total of about 8 hours on the ATX. I searched the shallow edge of the local city beach where you should not be able to find any targets at this time of year. This beach is just pounded in the fall but with the ATX I'm getting depth that many other detectors can't reach. These are some of the items that I found but not shown is about 2 pounds of very old rusty metal trash. The beach has been used for about 100 years so you do sometimes get an older coin. My oldest today was a King George V five cents. The date is not clear but it's between 1921 and 1936. Also found a 1945 silver 10 cents and an assortment of other coins. No gold or silver jewelry just some junk jewelry. I really enjoy this machine and it will produce some good finds. A tip that I am using is to detect a small swimming beach where the sand is the deepest, and beyond the depth of other detectors. With most of the good signals I had to scoop away a foot of light colored sand and get down to the black clay were the targets were hiding. My only complaint is that I need a bigger scoop...Syd

Hey Syd,

I found the same result on the depth when I went to Lake Conroe. Next time I am actually going to take a shovel. The scoop can only go so deep per dig and that takes longer, so gonna give the shovel a try with the scoop and see how that works. Great depth with the ATX though.

Thanks for the feedback Syd!

Happy hunting,

Stephen

First Gold

Got out for another 3 hours this afternoon and the first target was this St. Christopher medal. Just 10k but it's the first gold with the ATX and the best part is that it was at least 12 inches down. I'm really liking this detector. The deep gold can't hide from it.

Stephen, I think you're right about needing a shovel. I detected this beach one day with a friend who brought a GPX5000 and a shovel. Now we need a shovel!
