lithion ion batteries

Hi all, Just wondering does anybody use lithion ion batteries or another rechargable battery in there detectors? I just bought a tiger shark and want to know my options as far as batteries. Thanks all and HH.

I used to have a tiger shark and in my opinion, rechargeable batteries to save money are probably not necessary as batteries seem to last forever in that thing. I used my tiger shark once a week all last summer and changed batteries once! Others can chime in but the tiger shark just keeps going and going and going......

In my PI's, 4500mah, small pack the size of two long AA 4 cell battery holders. They last for weeks, I ran almost a month before charging one pack, they run around $23-26, which includes
an 8 hour charger. But they are 12 volt. Google Dealextreme.com

Now I just purchased a Fisher C$, and the owner was using 9 volt 520mah L-Polymer rechargeables and has had no problems. from iPowerUS.com. And some of the Garrett guys were using the 9 volt rechargeables

I use NiMh batteries in all my machines...they are charged on a smart charger after every use and have never ran out of juice ...it is well worth every penny spent to go rechargeable...never have to worry about having power...and don't have to keep buying alkalines...which are throwaways after a week or two....or even three. The better quality batteries you use and the better charger you use...the less you will even worry about it. Best of luck to ya.

Don't worry about rechargeables. I use them and they are preferred over regular batteries for this reason alone. Regular batteries start off with higher voltage but degrde much more rapidly than rechargable. So you may start with a higher voltage say 1.5 but drops at a rapid pace compared to recharge or lithium. They may work better at the start but the fade fast!!
