Locking Collar Cracks.

I hear that our replacement collars are on their way to us.

I have come up with a idea to stop the problem which works.

Get some black Shrink Heat Wrap tube to suit cut to length and when in place and heated only God will move it and the problem is solved including the colour match.:cheers:Jerry.

Jerry, are you covering the cracked cam lock with the tubing, your first post does not say that, any thing that helps with the problem is helpful to us all. if that is the case my previous post was up the creek without a paddle ,thought you where using shrink tube straight to the stems . John,

Shink tube is just that and has been in use in the Aircraft industry and others for many years.

It resembles a cycle innertube and comes in various sizes.

Cut the lenght to suit slide it onand apply heat it takes the form of the broken locking ring and only God can move it problem solved.

Like most thing in life its easy when you know how.Jerry.

wish you said you where covering the locking ring, the first time around ,a cracking idea .shrink tube have used for years when I was into fishing, so it is not new to me .:detecting:

As an after thought use.012 wall thickness shrink tube otherwise to much heat is required.

Out of interest First Texas spare locking rings have arrived and are being delivered to homes as I talk.

Well done to them for the service backup.Jerry.

Hi Dennis2,

I can assure you that there is also another manufacturer who's component's fit without any adjustments.

Why when Iam the owner of a Brand new

I understand what your saying . But if it keeps on happening it's just something to think about .Hope they come out with better Battery Springs also . The T-2 is a Great detector , just needs a few upgrades .

some spares where at the importers already, my friend received his spare part next day ,great service.

Yes you can use a Whites shaft. I have modified my Explorer SX to a Whites 3 piece travel shaft, I believe I paid about $30.00 for the shaft, and they are the same size. The 2 lower shaft are interchangable. The lower shaft that connects to the loop will also work, but you will need a 1/8 nylon washer to make up the difference in width. So now I know if I have a problem with the T2 shaft or lock rings I can use the whites shaft with out any down time. The only difference in the upper shaft, where the controls are mounted is the T2 is about 5 or 6 inches longer.
