Long Island Hunting?

Jaichim24

Next Friday I'm driving my Mom to Long Island to visit her sister. They just gab a lot, so I'm going to have a bunch of down time. I'm thinking about making the effort to do a little detecting. Any of you Long Islanders have any advice? I believe I need a permit, is it worth paying the fee for a 3 hour hunt? Also, do you have any links or information about obtaining one?

Thanks,

Jai

there is minimal info that you have to submit on the form that they will send to you..then they will mail you the permit within a couple of weeks

Cool, Thanks Magyar. It may not help me for this visit, but I will be going back to Long Island in August. That would be very cool if I could apply for a permit for free. I posted this same post in the Minelab Explorer forum, and someone said the permit cost $40. As far as detecting the CT side, I'm not sure. I'll be in Levittown, so what ever is closest to it, since I will only have 3 hours tops to get some where. (though if I can't get a permit, or if it will cost $40 plus parking, I don't think I'll be doing it)
