looking at a fisher F75

hello all, have been looking at the f75 as a second detector, I already own a GTP 1350,. and was wandering how it matches up and does it have extra features over the Garretts,, not sure if any one can help,

I had a 1350 and it was a good solid mid-priced machine.

The F75 is a whole different detector, to me the two detectors aren't in the same league.

The F75 is much faster (when not in boost or cache modes on the LTD), much better ergonomics and significantly deeper.

I haven't had any EMI issues anywhere I've detected with my F75 LTD yet, but everyone says it's more prone to EMI issues than most detectors.

I really don't think the F75 plays back up to too many units out there. With the LTD out the older F75 is a bargain. Hunting with a F75 is a whole different ball game. I had the LTD. The first Fisher I ever owned. I was not prepared for the amount of chatter. The LTD was by far the most powerful detector I ever held. But the chatter was too much for these old ears. Some say hunt through the noise. Some say back it down. You back it down you lose what makes it special. The people who can hunt with a F75 are better at concentration than me. I traded the LTD for a new Excalibur 1000. Another fine machine. I'm still looking for my next land machine. So my advice to you is simple. Try a used F75. Cheap right now. Maybe you will be one of the lucky ones who are unaffected by the noise. If you can tame it , I bet the Garrett becomes the back up.

Coming from a 1350 to a F75 is like night and day....Some can't get use to the F75 I am now using my LTD and the F75 as a backup....You may not be able to get use to this new fisher it has a lot under the hood I gave up on whites about six years ago and could never go back..I don't like whties anymore and tried the MXT and DFX and XLT and found them all to be slower and not even close to the depth of the F75....Good luck what ever you get you have to try it and see how it fits in with your style of hunting..

Marc, going out on a limb here, but the EMI can be eliminated by reducing sense. If that is the case, then the reduced EMI would put the detector with the same depth as others that are not experiencing EMI, right? That way, you do have the option to raise the sense to find the area where EMI might be noticeable, but also have the advantage of increased depth (working through the noise as one here suggested).

Options are nice, if this is the venue. It seems the LTD version is nothing more than added circuitry that ALLOWS the depth with filters that concentrate on the noise levels.

At least that's the way it appears.

After putting hundreds of hours on my F70, and about 60+ hours on the new F75 LTD, I have to disagree that the F70 runs smoother. The noise factor is about the same, it just depends on how you have them setup. I can setup my LTD in boost mode to run much more quite then my F70, but the LTD blows the F70 away as far a depth is compared and speed, there's no competition between the two. The F70 in your soil may get as much depth as the legacy F75 with the same coils, but that wasn't the case here.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why folks come on the vendor specific forums and ask advice about buying from that vendor.

they are two different machines they run differently....but the LTD is by far the best off all of the Fisher machines...I would save for that machine if you can find one or wait till the new flagship comes out..This is a gret test to see if Fisher can keep moving up and offer better machines the next level of fun and finding more history... I didn't like the F70 not even a little bit...I trusted the F75 even in the worst hunting areas and the LTD is even better and can do even more to give you options to hit almost any area and find history and coins

Wrong first get a F75 and a F70 and the LTD then you will see that you are not really understanding any of this till you have hands on time on any and all of these machines
