looking at used AT pro...

I figured I would post here... I'm close to picking up a secondary detector , not really a backup but one I can swing every now and then to change things up or in certain situations. I used a friends AT pro about 7 years ago on a just for fun day and really enjoyed it. I found a few AT Pro's local, around the $400-$450 range both were used dry, and owners claim they have never seen water. I'm a dirt fisher so water isn't my thing but it would be nice to have a detector I can be out with in a light rain.
So what am I looking for as far as wear, water damage? or "other" and is that price range fair ? thanks...

Being they have been made for many a year now it's probably hard to tell how old a machine is. I recently bought a used one locally for $460. It has the newer style rubber hand grip and looks mint. Have found 2 pieces of sterling with it already. If you can find one with the rubber grip it is probably within 2 years old.
