Looking for a coil

A friend of mine lives off the land. He raises chickens , grows veggies , commercial fish , scraps and does odd jobs. He likes to metal detect and has an old garrett groundhog AM2 . His puppy chewed the cable in half. He doesnt have the disposable money for a new machine. Im asking if anybody has an old coil for free or cheap that fits this detector.

He sounds like a very interesting person, and you are a great friend...You know what? I just had an idea!

I bet he has something to barter with? Most guys like him like to trade and not take a handout..thats how subsistance hunters rolled for eons... I bet he has found an arrowhead, or some sort of interesting relic, heck an animal skull even? Anything interesting or unusual he would like to barter? Hand carving, nice chunk of obsidian? anything?....I bet one of the brothers here has an entire spare rig they would trade if you could get some pictures and do the post for your friend?

I bet if he has a bear skull, or a few arrowheads, he could get a pretty sweet rig in trade, maybe even the other person would pay freight both ways as well.....just a thought....this could be really fun for everybody too!

He might have something. He was telling me about this little swan he found detecting. He said it was old and had silver pewter written on it .

Sweet! He may wind up with a very nice rig, maybe better than anything we all have!.......You know he's got all sorts of stuff He's found in that lifestyle...I dont know where you are at in the world, but something really unique and interesting that can only be found in your area might get some traction...heck...eagle feathers, feet off a roadkill hawk or owl, interesting rocks and fossils and shells, all that stuff somebody cant get in their backyard...it doesnt have to be a detector found metal object, maybe an ivory elk eye tooth, or porcupine quills..scrimshaw deer antler section, homemade knife, leather work, etc...

He lives in Illinois on the banks of the Mississippi . A true river rat . I live across the river from him in Missouri. Its hard telling what he has, I'll ask. Hes told me before that he use to pick up Buffalo teeth on the banks of the river. I know he finds arrowheads but I think he has a buyer for them. He finds something he sells it .He sells morel mushrooms every spring . I dont know if morels can be shipped though. Ill ask him and may drive over to get some pictures. I havent been there for awhile anyways .

I just talked to him and he says hes got some old stuff hes found. Arrowheads, buffalo teeth , cardboard duck decoys ...I'll get pictures if somebody might be interested in a swap .

ps. I know he has white tail antler sheds.

Those old time cardboard duck decoys are good...let him think and stew on it a bit...good thing he lives right in the middle of all of us...heck, a fellow may drive on over and deliver a rig to make the trade...the conversation alone is worth something...Old River rats are hard to come by now a days.....a good story of a subsistance hunter on the Big River is a rare opportunity..it would make for some great pictures..

Without knowing how badly chewd the cable is I'm wondering if it can't be spliced back together??
Usually the wires are color coded so just matching up the red wire to the red wire etc. a little solder and heat shrink tubing could be a fairly quick and easy fix.

Those old time cardboard duck decoys are good. .

If I remember correctly they are folding decoys in a bag . Im not sure though.
