Looking for a good lazy ID machine - Ace 250???

Really just want a good ID machine to coinshoot with. Good on nickels? Last Garrett I used was the GTI 2500. FYI the GTI 2500 kicks butt in the am mode, found lots of good CW stuff with it, was just darn heavy!!

The ACE should do the trick. It has found us a lot of gold rings, hence, it should be good on nickels. And it's price should make it a lazy machine, as you won't have to spend a long time paying it off with your loot finds. :)

Was looking to get an XLT I liked the one I used to have but the +$600-900 > price tag is a little high. Most of the time I'm digging everything at foil and up anyway hence the Tesoros. But on occasion I like to lazy coinshoot just for fun. I've been reading about the 250 on here and everyone seems to really like em' Looks like a simple straight forward machine- What's this "boing-boing" thing?? Is it like the moneytone on the GTI 2500?? that was kind of annoying sometimes. BTW I compaired the XLT and the ace 250 on kellyco says they run at the same freq. and are comperiable, lol. gotta love kellco. Might be fun to have a green machine again and it looks like if I don't like it I can easily roll it out the door.

I believe it is the best tot lot detector there is. With the small coil, you can go underneath metal equipment and find coins others couldn't detect. The sniper coil can go 7" on a cent. It can find some very small stuff. You can notch out what you don't want with out loosing depth. It is also a great loaner. Mine has lived in the trunk of my car for three years for when I needed it.

Hey, R-n-R. It's great! I also have two Tesoro's but like you somedays I want to relax and dang if it don't make a difference to look down at that meter and see dime or quarter on the display with the cursor over it. Hard to explain. The boing-boing only comes from too much sensitivity or iffy targets. The best way I know to explain it is to compare it to other tone ID's. Usually they have a high tone in the standard beep format. The high tone on the Ace is a "bong"-and if you forget to turn your headphones down, your eyeballs will go "boing-"boing" and actually move in their sockets! Now on another brand, an iffy target may sound like ba-beep but on the Ace, since the high tone is a "bong"- it could be boo-BONG-bah-BONG! Once you learn the detector, it's not even a bother-you just lift the coil-or lower the sensitivity if it's necessary-or slow the sweep speed down to give the Ace time to ID it correctly. It's really not that much of a bother once you get used to it.

Hi there bud. The 250 should fit your needs well. Aside from being the most sold machine out there, it's fun to use, and a real butt-kicking goodie getter. The belltone on it is the sound of money and sounds like a phone ringing when it hits something it likes real well. It's made a lot of fellers happy, especially all us old farts who got tired of swinging those "Golly Gee Whiz Bang" machines.

I figure it would be a good light, solid unit to use. Now I just have to find one! I would consider swapping my Tesoro Bandito 2 w 10.5 inch coil (old brown box) for one which i consider to be a fair trade what do yall think?? and is anybody interested?? TKS

Best investment you'll ever make. If I had an extra one I'd swap you. Shouldn't be any problem selling your B2.
