Is the hoop with the hook brass ? I have found similar ones made of cheap pot metal. The other item looks like a small shoe buckle frame from the colonial era. The buckles are usually made of brass. I found one made of pewter a while ago (not in the best of condition) but colonial . Nice finds , I would continue searching in the area where you found the buckle , you may find some buttons and possibly some colonial coins. HH

Yes, it's either brass or copper. Hit 68-69 on my friend's Garrett AT Max. It has a very nice patina on it. The buckle is in great shape.
