Looking in unusual places

As the season opens be sure to keep in mind that all finds are not in obvious places. Here's some I have found in not your usual sites.
This CW rosette (went on a horse's bridle) was dug in a very modern rodeo arena. No doubt someone using great gramps tack.

When you check houses do you check the sides and maybe the back alley ? This gold plated Buffalo nickel was out back in the alley.

A stretch of very hard dirt & rock along the street produced this Barber dime. The ground was so hard I had to pick it out.

Lastly, in a vacant lot I saw some rubble and checked trhrough it. This glasses case was there & it is stamped Sterling. So keep your options open as well as your mind this season & good luck, steve in so az

Wow great finds!!!!

of school yards that have land and hillsides surrounding them when not private property. I hunted a hillside outside of the school grounds fence of a Junior High School and found lots of coins where the kids ate their lunch or played during breaks~ The places are limitless unless needing permission; so if needed, be brave and ask as they can only say NO, but hopefully YES!! :cheekkiss:

God Bless!

Terrific post, Steve...

I never saw a more beautiful Barber dime...I'll never find one in that condition!

Love the glasses case! :)

Due to your tutelage, I most definitely look "outside the box" when it comes to detecting. I've had some great finds in areas where no one in their right mind would want to hunt  Last spring, I literally crawled on my hands and knees through brush and bramble (bled like a pig from thorns) just to find some buttons, a couple of LC's and my oldest coin, a William and Mary half cent circa 1694. Nothing comes easy in life and MD'ing is no different ;)
