lorenz detectors

I have the Lorenz 5, but seldom use it. As with all PI's they detect every piece of iron, and the discrimination is very poor. I have the 18" coil and have built a square frame 1m X 1m using the 8m cable to search for deeper items. I bought it to get the extra depth and locate hoard etc. Its not paid for itself to date but I live in hope. Lastly, there seem few users about and the makers are not that communicative. Depending upon where and what you are searching for maybe an Explorer with a WOT coil(I have one) or even the new 18" Excelerator coil from Kellyco(very OTT claims on depth for this!) might be suitable. If you are relic/hoard hunting then a standard two coil detector might be best-often available S/H-still costs a lot less than the Lorenz-good luck. Dave
PS Have you bought anything yet?
