Lost a friend today

Today, my long time friend ( best friends husband ) passed away suddenly from a heart attack while jogging with his teenage daughter. Kenny Krulish worked for St. Johns County Fire Rescue here in St. Augustine Florida with my X-husband. We've been friends with him and his wife Amy for 25 years. It was Amy that got me back into going to church and resulted in me being saved last Jan 1, accepting Jesus as my savior. Kenny was in his 40s. He has two children. I'm just at a total loss of words. I don't even know whats proper to do when someone dies, this is the first close friend death I've experienced. I haven't even talked to Amy yet. This entire family is going to need many prayers. They have a strong church group backing them but the more prayers the better. Please pray for them.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I will be praying for all of you.

If they have God it will be much easier to get through this. I don't know how people can go through the death of a loved one without God.

I am so sorry for your loss, I will be praying as well.

In regards of what to do. Where I grew up people would call the Widow/widower or family to offer condolences and would take a dish of food over to their house and ask if there was anything else they could do to help. This was the reaction to the loss of a friend. I will pray for them all.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. Prayers for you and the family.

I just got back from Amy's house. They are very strong in their faith and holding up well but you can feel the loss intensely. I made the mistake of telling the children they now have another angel watching over them but was corrected by Amy who said Kenny is not an Angel but he is with God now. Kinda feeling bad for saying the wrong thing but I'm only 1 year old so I'm sure they understand. Glad I went over there. Thank you everyone for the prayers. We'll all need them.

Don't worry about saying the wrong thing in trying to console someone.
You are right about her understanding that your a babe in Christ. She's a
Mom and it's her nature to correct, but I'm sure she meant no malice in her
correction. I am so sorry for your loss, and am praying for your friends family.

God Bless you, and may His arms surround you and yours!
