Lost Gold of the Dark Ages

Just saw an ad on TV for a show called Lost Gold of the Dark Ages that will air on the National Geographic channel at 8PM this Sunday. It will be all about the large cache of ancient gold jewelry found several months ago in the UK. I know I'll be watching!

How do they really place an accurate value on the treasure, when they said that most of the 1600 odd pieces had yet to have all the caked-on dirt clean off of them by the conservators?

Hi; They are valued in "AS IS " condition.Second is the pay the "guestimate" wholesale market value. Third is if you convertPounds to USD it works out to about $6 Million dollars total. The each recieved $1,456,000 in Pounds or about $3 Million each. Not a bad pay day. I'd take it.!!! PEACE:ROB

It was found on a field that had been detected loads of times over many years....i think there had even been club digs on it.Just goes to show you should never give up on those hard hit fields.
