Lost half dollar

I decided to dig up and replant my coin garden in a better spot. I found all the coins except a Kennedy half dollar I planted at about 4" a little over a year ago. For the life of me I can't find it! I had a camping trailer parked over the coin garden for about six months and my little flags were chewed up by my dog so I wasn't exactly sure where it was. But I do know within abot 3 ' or less of where it was in relationship to the quarter I have already recovered. Why it won't ring up I don't know but I have tried my Safari and two other lesser detectors and haven't been able to find it! This has me baffled. An air test of an identical half really lights up the machine and reads out a 39. Ay ideas? Onus

I know this sounds crazy, but it could have sunk down beyond the reach of your detectors. I find that my safari will go deeper when the batteries show only one bar and sen set on 14. Worth a try. Shorty2

I haven't been able to get back to the half dollar hunt because I had to have some eye surgery. But now I am 20/20! Now if the snow would just melt I'd give it a go again! None of the other coins went any deeper but the half would be heavier so mayb? But I know it hasn't gone beyond the usable depth for my Safari. I'll get back when I get another chance to go looking.
