Lost Wedding Ring, West Michigan

Ok, this is my first post....Imagine my surprise in finding a Christian message board to which I can ask some questions!

Short version of the story:

This past weekend, I lost my wedding ring in waist deep water while swimming. Having read a story about a woman finding her ring in Lake Erie, I was encouraged (even though it was stated to be 250,000 to 1 odds). :(

After losing the ring, we made a big pile of rocks where I stood....I feel (fairly) confident that with the right metal detector and a couple of hours I could find it. I don't necessarily know where to begin though. What TYPE of detector? Other tools??

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Joe

Gull Lake is close to me. I need your phone number or email so we can get it before it is gone.
