This is my best find so far this year. 14k solid and stamped, the stones are cz's but that's ok.The thrill of finding this when I was on an English beach:ukflag: put me over the moon!! See the English 50 pence piece for size comparison. Registered 10 on all metal setting and was 4-5 inches deep. I hope everyone is posting their best finds because it encourages all of us to keep swinging and keep the sport alive!!!:twodetecting:

Thanks guy's for your encouraging words of support!! I will be going back to Illinois next month ( I have some property and a family member there ) can anyone suggest any good spot's to m.d. around Pekin and Peoria areas? I have detected some parks and had some success but always looking for fresh places, ghost towns? thanks!

Super find Gold strike. Can't help you with Peoria. Just follow your coil, it seems to have a nose for great finds.

Thanks Bunker! Metal Detecting is like fishing (which I also love)! Sometimes, you can fish a stream/river/lake that really looks like it's going to give you the 'big one' but you come away empty handed! In metal detecting, I am constantly surprised at what I find in some unlikely places but just as in fishing, you won't catch anything unless your line is in the water and so I try to do that as much as I can (metal detecting) and as much as my wife will allow me to!!! although it's amazing how their reaction changes when you bring home good stuff that's worth money!!!! keep on swinging!

OOPPPPsss I reviewed this old post and it went to the top of the posts....didn't plan to do that!!!

Unfortunately now even 14 Kt. jewelry has faker stones so that honker of a diamond ring may be just that but indeed a nice find and thanks for the post.
PS: only your jeweler knows for sure as he can test the diamonds or the fakers so do have finds checked out before you assume...
I would feel you picked up the cross and not the chain and basically is another nice find in the foil region...
