Took it out to an old park today. It's been heavily hunted - so I go 'low and slow'.
An indication of it's barrenness - 5 coins in 3 hours! BUT - an 1891 Indian, a V-nickel and a WW2 service button came home with me. My last trip it was 6 coins, including a nice Barber quarter, in 3 hours.
I'm getting used to the machine, and the 'ferrous' sounds. I still dig my share of nails, but I think that's a 'given' with Minelabs - my Sovereign was no different. You gotta do that to get the deep coins. And you gotta have faith to go as slow as I do (snails have been known to hitch a ride on my coil).
