- - the whole tippin over thing when you set it down. What were they thinking?

Does anyone make a functional stand that works with an environmental cover AND doesn't look like it was cobbled together off of a plumbers truck?

I had an Anderson Detector stand mounted on my Prizm 6T. The thing was always loose. It was held on by a set screw on each side. I think there is a market for a new invention.

Hey David. What the heck is wrong with cobbled together from a plumber's truck??? Or from bicycle accessories like I like to use for straight shafts or balancing. :lmfao:

I agree about too easy to tip (mine is the 75 series). Put the 6.5 elliptical on it and it is even worse. Will need to think about solving the tipping issue and tie it in with how to be able to hang the detector up on a shelf or hook from the arm cuff area. May be able to solve both with something mounted to the back of the battery compartment. Ya got me thinking.

You are right tvr! I don't have much problem with the stock DD coil, but with the 61/2," I've gotten to the point that I just lay the detector on its side when digging a target. HH jim tn

I utterly agree with you and TVR - there is a need. Im just not in the frame of mind to create one. If I could find one that was ready to go, I'd buy it.
BUt it may come to pass that I manufacture one. It has been absorbing my thoughts, lately. :nerd:

I made one out of 1/2'' PVC and it works great. It takes about 1/2 hour to make. Can't upload a picture for some reason. If your interested send me an E-mail jerr696@yahoo.com and I'll send you some pics. HH,Jerry

Try finding a clamp-on weedeater handle that is flat at the back. The handle on my weedeater is like that and after the weedeater dies, off comes the handle. I would suggest going to a place that fixes weedeaters and go thru the junk pile of dead weedeaters. Bet you could get one cheap. Some are slightly rounded and it seems heat could could flatten them or cut off the curve and have legs instead. Just a thought. If done right it would not look cobbled on.

Looking at the F75, I think one of the minoura SG200 accessory stems will do the trick and still allow installation of the rain cover. Can mount it just about anywhere between the armrest and the hand hold on the shaft. All I have at home right now is one 100 mm wide one. It is easy to add a longer tube from standard 7/8 inch outside diameter tubing.

Back when my elbow was in serious hurt, I used these with longer than stock tubing (like 7.5 inches long). I'd fill the tube with lead weights to balance the Cibola and Tejon with larger coils. Balanced meant less torque on the elbow. Helped that issue a lot.

The standard 100 mm wide part is about as wide as the back of the battery box on the F75. The 140mm wide one (SG200L) should help a good bit without changing the tube. I have a little bit of aluminum tube left so I will make one up from the 100 mm one.

Picture is of the Cibola with a 7.5 inch tube in place of the original 100 mm long tube.

I have to agree, I've gotten to the point on my F70 & F75 LTD that I just lay it on it's side, otherwise it just flops over :veryangry:

It's a shame FT Fisher couldn't afford to design a proper detector stand :poke:

I think the odds are very good it's a 7/8 inch shaft for the stand for the V3. My XL Pro is 7/8 inch as are the tubes for the Tesoros and the Fishers I have. That's also why bicycle handle bar parts work well for building a straight shaft or other mods ... most are 7/8 inch.
