Low Conductors

For all you that use the Safaria on the beach, there is program in Andy S, Quattro handbook that rejects everything up to plus+9 and +32 and above that I use to make more time looking for gold items by not digging foil and coins, especially pennies. I reject up to +10 and if I want to find silver jewelry, quarters, and dimes, I accept +37 thru +39. I maybe missing some smaller gold but all the foil that I was digging was not worth it to me. Here are some of my finds from another hunt after work. Except for the tungsen ring and the other ring I found while using the low conductor program.

What did the chain ID at , The Zinc Range Can be a pain in the b&%#, BUT The Large heavy set Rings fall within The Zinc Range , so if you Discriminate out this Range , you will never find the Large Rings and they are the ones with the Big Diamonds, Thanks for sharing your Beach finds.

The chain hit hard ( maybe because it's wide) in the low range 18 or 19 I think. It has 14k stamped on it but I am not sure if it's real until I test it.

More like 80% to 90% of gold falls into the FOIL range because that is where the overwhelming majority of women's jewelry falls. Men's jewelry items are usually found in the Pulltab range but women wear about four pieces of jewelry to each 1/2 piece worn by men. I keep trying to tell people if you knock out foil you are losing most of your gold, but I have just given up. I guess most people would just rather focus on the really big pieces.

When anyone mentions the "foil range" it would help to post the numbers representing that range. I think we all may have different thoughts on that particular range. I have my suggestions but what would you all say the range would be?

The foil range that I find a lot of foil is around 8, 9, and 10 even though I dig the 10s. The amount of trash foil that I was digging that register in the 9s and below is not worth my time even if I miss the smaller gold. I hunt for the larger stuff. This technic works for me and I do find some goodies. I did lots of nickles (vdi 14) and pull tabs so I am on the right track of finding heavier gold. HH

That point is key. If you want to get all the gold you can, there is going to be a lot of foil targets dug.

Ask anyone that have many ring finds and they will say,"if your not diggin pull tabs your not diggin rings.
Nickels pull tabs and gold plus 6 and up. I read an article where a guy found a gold cross, across the pond, using a Safari and it ID'ed +6.
Google it to fact check, I could be off by +3. GL&HH

That might have been me? I detected this 14k chain and cross about 4 years ago off a beach in England and I believe it came in at +10 and still gives me a boost of adrenalin when I see it!! I like to hunt in A.M. in most locations and rely on the sounds more than the numbers. That way, if I swing slow, I usually don't miss much because of nulling and usually you can tell if it's foil but I still get 'foiled' with 'foil' targets sometimes! (pardon the pun):)

Goldstike that's one big Meal Ticket you have there.......... 99% of all Jewelry is found in The Foil - Nickle - Pull-Tab - Zinc Range, no matter what detector you are using.
