M6 coil

ROADKING

New member
Just got an M6 for fathers day what coils do you guys recomend I have other detector but this is buy farther ahead of the rest.

I have the 5.3 and 6x10.The 5.3 is good for trashy sites and still gets good depth. The 6x10 covers a lot of ground,is light but you do lose some depth and the depth on the pinpoint will read the target deeper than it is.

I've got all mentioned. The 6X10 is my main coil, does better in the trash than the 9.5 - the 4X6 is wonderful in really heavy trash and the 5.3 does a pretty good job in trash plus covers a bit better than the 4X6 and is deeper. Depends on where and what you're hunting. I like all three and use them as the conditions warrant. One could get by a large share of the time with the 5.3 if you don't mind covering the ground a bit slower. My two bits.

You have not mentioned what areas you are going to be hunting the most like parks, playgrounds, open fields etc. I use the White's 6x10 the most as it works pretty good in trashy areas. If I am going to be hunting in a really trashy area and next to metal play ground equipment, I use my 6" DD Excelerator and my wife uses her 4.5 x7 DD Excelerator. If I am working an open area like in the outfield of a diamond or out in the open areas of a park my 6x10 coil goes back on. Good luck with your decision on choosing a new coil. HH Dennis in Idaho

thanks for the input Dennis we are like you all we hunt any thing and every thing parks old houses fields empty lots beaches you name it , Mike in Florida

Roadking , Congrats on the M6 , Its a real good detector, I recommend getting the 6x10 DD first, This will allow you to see the difference between the concentric and DD performance wise , and not sacrifice much depth , if any. Once you see how the two coils perform in relation to each other, then you will have an idea of how the 5.3 conc, ,and the 4x6DD work. in relation to each other. I love the stk coil and the 6x10, but I got rid of the super 12 and the 5.3 .I feel I have the best 3 coils for the M6 now for my type of hunting,I mostly hunt coins in parks and schoolyards.I have and use the Eclipse Stk., 6x10 and 4x6 coils. One option is to buy a used coil and if you don't like it , you can recover all of the money you paid for it. by reselling it. Good Luck and HH...Rich
