as Cliff dug up my long, front flower bed in front of my house! Had one Mum plant growing in one place, so I took it apart and planted in holes to make a lot more to bloom this fall! Need to get other flowers to go with them that would bloom now, but haven't purchased any, as yet! Hope they aren't sold out of them too soon! :frown:

He uses his long, air tube to help him breathe and drags it all over the place! Me, I would lose it but he seems to do okay using his oxygen that way! I know one thing, he sure is a big help to me..............until he waters the soil before I have planted the plants in the holes..............MUDDY....YUCK! I told him shame on you, you should have just watered the holes and then watered the whole bed after I planted the Mums! Oh well, I survived and was able to get most of the mud off my hands!

We had Teriyaki chicken tonight and it was really good..............even he said he liked it and he doesn't usually like chicken........but the meat had a good flavor! We used the broth to go over cornbread and we had fresh sliced tomato, canned green beans and baked sweet potatoes! He doesn't get that good of a supper every night!

Hope all are okay and finding lots of goodies when you get out and detect in God's beautiful scenery! Everything is so pretty now! The trees are leafed out, the flowering trees are blooming but about ready to shed their petals, lots of pretty flowers, the grass is green and the sun's warmth feels good along with the fresh air! Many colorful birds singing their songs, so what else could a person want but the wondrous beauty of our Lord!

God Bless!

Just kidding! Glad you guys had a good day planting and a good meal tonight. :)

Betty - Sounds like a productive day - and the dinner sure sounds better than my hot dogs tonight !

If you have any of the big stores like Home Depot or Lowes around they have different plants for sale on a special rack - usually in the back. These are ones they want to get rid of for 50 cents to a buck or so. They are in good shape and very good buys. Nancy gets them all the time . Steve in so az

And that dinner sounded yummy! I especially like baked sweet potatoes. A little butter, some brown sugar....MMMMmmmm MMMmmm Good!

God Bless you!

Hi Ma Betty!

I wish I could see pics of those flowers and flower bed.

and of that delicious meal!! I like that idea of the broth poured over the cornbread.mmmmmmmmmm delish!!
Stay well.. and God bless you, Cliff and all your loved ones

Yes Mike, if you call rocks, wood pcs of the old tree roots and long, thin plant roots from the old ones I had in the flower bed! Now, I don't think that is the kind you were wanting to hear about though! I'm going to surprise you all one of these days and go digging for the real thing, but don't hold your breath until I do! :)

God Bless!

Thanks Steve and I usually buy the flowering plants at Wal-Mart or Home Depot, but since I am slow in getting them, I just hope they aren't all gone. The ones left are usually dead or shriveled up and dying! To buy from a nursery would be a lot higher! Will try to see about some by this weekend.

Cliff mowed most of the front and side lawns and I helped him finish the front! He had one of his oxygen tanks out there and was hooked up to that! He goes slow and rests a lot, but he eventually gets it done and so do I even though I'm gasping for air! I may have to start using oxy all the time but I hope not, as to me it would be hindrance when I wanted to go or do something!

The Mums are looking better today, as they were droopy last night! They are all of one color and I would rather have various colors......but, hey, they are flowers!

God Bless!

Thanks J! Yes, baked sweet potatoes and even hot cornbread is good! We sound like we are from way back in the hills!

No, I tried not to destroy any, but did have to throw a few stems away, as they didn't look good enough to plant! But most of it was transplanted and I hope they look nice when they bloom! Don't know if they will bloom this year and probably will be late fall if they do! Don't know if I will still be here but we'll see!

God Bless & Happy Hunting! May God bless you to find some really nice goodies!

Betty

Thanks Bryce! Yes, planting flowers to improve the yard and neighborhood and a good meal does make for a great day! I didn't burn the chicken either! Usually when I'm doing something else I forget that I'm cooking and have a habit of burning the food! I told Cliff that I had put the meat on and to remind me so I wouldn't forget and let it go dry and burn! He smelled the Teriyake before I did and reminded me of the chicken, so Praise God.................................NO BURNT FOOD, for a change!

God Bless and Happy Hunting.......hope you find lots of nice goodies when you go :detecting:

Thanks Lorraine! Yes, the Teriyake flavored chicken broth poured over fresh cornbread was really good! But there isn't much to see of my flowerbed and flowers, as yet! We still want to put some paving stones or something to keep the dirt from washing out! Haven't decided what will happen as yet! Will try to get some Petunias and Impatients though, for they bloom a lot all summer! Always colorful when different ones are together of various hues!

I am still learning how to use my printer and computer for photos! I seem to forget if I don't do something all the time! I did get a pic enlarged and it is really pretty! Although it is on regular copy paper, it looks like it is on canvas! Beautiful painting for sure! It is a card I have of a Wood Duck by John Cornacchio. Now, I have to remember what I did to enlarge it!

You have such nice pics with tags that I would like to post like that too! I just haven't learned a lot about Computers even though I had the other for 7 years! I feel so computer challenged! Maybe there is hope for me!

God Bless and may you keep finding those silver goodies and other coins!

Betty

Hey, J, you and family are welcome to come by and see us, but call first as I have a habit of wearing my night clothes which are comfortable but not suitable for company!

Also, I hope the house is in better order by then and it may be for sale! Still have quite a bit to do, but wouldn't take long, if I could get myself motivated by feeling better and just doing what's needing done! I spend too much time on this new Computer and it challenges me too much!

Please do stop by if you can and if you need directions then PM me for them before you start your trip to Missouri! I'll also PM my phone number and address!

God Bless!

Well, Mike, I could have made Mud Pies, I guess, but the idea even has me spitting the mud out of my mouth! I was trying to shake it off my fingers, as I couldn't use the hose as Cliff was mixing water and miracle grow to spray the flower beds! I used a paper towel but it didn't remove all of it, until I washed my hands!

You know I've always heard of kids making mud pies, but I don't think I ever did! Just working in the garden was playing in the mud enough for me!

God Bless & Happy Hunting! Go for the gold in dem dar hills! :)
