Hit the beaches about 4 hours before low tide today. Even so it took a bit of driving to find the "good" beach. It's amazing how much beaches can change from one week to the next! The beach that was good last week was terrible this week and a beach that was terrible last week was great this week. Go figure
Finally all the sand that they pumped onto the NJ Beaches last year is almost gone And things are getting back to the way they used to be. I hit a beach today that used to be good before the big fill and it turned out to be a pretty good beach.
There were a lot of targets which makes the day go by too fast!!!

Besides all the coins and junk jewelry there was also some silver and gold.

I have never found a medal like the one in the pix. Here are closeups of both sides. I hope that someone out there can tell me a bit more about it!!! Thanks!!!

Hi Don,
How have you been? Are you enjoying your retirement? Hopefully we'll get some more storms and you'll come out of the woods and do some beach hunting

I'm having serious detecting withdrawal pains, bad wind or not I may head down this coming week.

You are so lucky to have those beaches close at hand. I am in oklahoma, Not too many of those kind of beaches around here.

Hi Charles... it maybe good after this storm goes through on Monday. It should definitely move some sand around.

I agree. I don't think I could live inland any farther than I do now. I live about 50 miles from the Ocean so it's an hour or more drive to any of the beaches that I hunt. I grew up around the water and I do not enjoy being very far from it!!!!

Boy Oklahoma is NOT ok,I mean big time. In trying to keep up with the big boys they let in all the Federal laws and legislate every thing for the state, high taxes, bad roads that are always being fixed and refixed over and over again. What is that?
Anyway what I was going to say was that 50 miles from where I live is Keystone lake that actually has some nice natural sandy beaches, Uhhu, the Corp of Engineers baned Metal Detectors from the whole lake, and its a big lake. If they can't put a fee on it you can't do it. Anything in the water has to have a license, that includes air mattresses and inner tubes. Yes sir, America - Land of the FEE.
