MACHINES

Hello,
This has got to be said.
If every one keeps calling there detectors MACHINES, then I believe that we are really gonna have people tell us they have broken ther shafts or coils or whatever because that is what they thought they were using. A MACHINE.eg ploughing fileds and grading roads and stump removal with there detectors.
Any how how can such advanced technology still be called a freakin MACHINE?
I don't believe that newbies to these forums need us to tell them that they just bought or are about to by a MACHINE.
There is no definition in any dictionary I have seen that describes a metal detector as a MACHINE.
I mean why have a spell checker on this site anyhow?
So what have I done. Woken you up or what?
Dave.

your right from now on they are instruments

Dave - while it may not be "absolutely" accurate many times trying to use the same words day-after-day gets to be downright boring. I think some of us just try too hard to spruce our messages up ;^)
HH ... Gord.

Don't know..... some "machines" I use at work get babied and pampered far more than any detector I've ever used.... I often wondered why you coudn't have a coil with a sharp serrated edge to mow down weeds while you detect, now that would be a machine HH, Mike.
