Made a decision - Sherry agrees (long)

Sherry, Casey and I have gone to the same church now for several years. Casey had gotten saved and water baptized there (which made her an instant church member). Sherry and I had never asked to be members of the church but kept attending. Some time back I wanted to be a mentor to help others via an organization called Setting Captives Free. Very good Christian group using God's word to help people who are in bondage to sin. Anyway, one of the stipulations was in order to do that mentoring one requirement was to be a member of a church or have a church pastor where I go write a letter of introduction. We lost our pastor who knew us and an elder could do the same but we had some 'lessons' to take for several weeks before the elder would give his ok.
Then - we were going to move. Sherry didn't want to be a member and then lose all the close friends and such and move away from them all. So we never became members.

As Sherry says "Here's the deal" on Sunday Jan. 1, 2006, I and Sherry will be going forward to become members of the church. (We kinda held off because we are selling the house but I'm tired of postponing things because of this or that). As part of joining the church on that particular day I will be mentioning:

Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
