As I mentioned the weather was to be sunny and into the 50s today. Took the Minelab to the ball field - Warthog I missed ya.
My first find was what I thought was a nickel...

turned out to be a 1959 Memorial Penny.
I had hoped the ground would have thawed. Last time I was out I had to break through maybe an inch or two of frozen ground then was in the soft dirt. Today was different - way different. Using the military type folding shovel as a pick failed miserably - kept straightening out. Cheap made tool...probably China. So had to do the next best thing....

Ground was frozen the whole length of the of the steel blade. This digger held up too being used as a pry bar popping chunks of dirt from the holes.
My next nice found was a button....

Found a lot of junk and when I found a golf ball in pieces, I thought someone must have had a nasty 'slice'. (Not being a golfer I have no clue what it means but seemed fitting).
Here is all I found today...

My hardest recovery was the tip of a fence. Here is a pic of how deep I dug through the frozen ground...

Well, Warthog, if ya would have been there today I would have run home and gotten a pick ax and we could take turns doing recovering the others finds.
When I mentioned having to beat the digger with the shovel Sherry remarked "I bet that helped you injured arm alot". Sarcasm is her favorite tool
My arm does hurt - more now than before but I am not telling her that.
Hope others had a better dig. But I am thankful I got out. Just as I finished my last dig (3 PM) I heard church bells from about a mile away. A wonderful way to end this day's dig.
