Made myself a light box the other night....

Turned out pretty well and was SUPER easy. Went to the dollar store and bought a 12x12 cardboard box and two sheets of posterboard for 3.75. I cut up an old sheet that I wasn't using and voila...Loren and I had it together in no time. Now, I should be able to take good pics of 7cents finds and my baby chicks!!! Does anyone here have experience with lightboxes. So far, I have only used a 60 watt incandescent bulb and I'm thinkin' I need to go up to a 75....Guess I will have to play around with it. My pictures haven't been edited other than cropping and I think they are too dark.[attachment 190643 DSC_1978_edited-1.gif][attachment 190644 DSC_1983_edited-1.gif][attachment 190646 DSC_1984_edited-1.gif][attachment 190648 angel.gif][attachment 190651 lolightbox.gif][attachment 190652 mrampmrs.gif]

they look pretty good!!!!!!!! a light connected to a dimmer would be cool!

Good luck with your light box...hope it works like you want it to to! Loren is beautiful sure a nice pic of her! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Tell mommy to stick her head in the box and then you take a pic of here so we all can see!:cool:

Thank you, Cadman. I agree, I was unhappy with the yellow cast.....Didn't have a fluorescent light here at the time, but I think that's the way to go.

I was already figurng on driving down there and knocking on your door with camera in hand!

Hi Liz, Many years ago, I did semi-professional photography of weddings, etc. After a year or so, I quit doing weddings because of the stress of needing to have every picture perfect and went into taking pictures of small children and their pets. I also did a lot of light box pictures over the years. I used several light boxes and all were professional grade. The one thing that really helps is good lighting. I use strobes but you can use any kind of directional lighting. The one issue you will want to avoid is 'shadows'. It looks like your headed in the right direction. Here are some examples of light box photography.

Put out an extra blanket on the couch. If I'm hunting relics, I will stay a few days!

Love the flower pics Martin! You are really good at photography! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Sho nuff....our couch even makes a lovely, non-supportive bed ;) Come on down! I'm praying GOD will provide the funds for a camper soon and that would be ideal for friends/family that would like to visit! From my lips to GOD's ears.

Thanks, Martin. I know what you mean about wedding photography. Everyone expects perfection (and I guess rightfully so), most people have step families to contend with and organized chaos seems to reign supreme. I don't care for it-at all. Wedding photographers earn their money if you ask me.

maybe a 40 foot motor home with a hot tub etc..... Sounds good to me! :wiggle:
