Maiden Voyage with the Manticore

That Railroad Guy

Well-known member
Finally got a chance to use my Manticore. Came across a whisky token for the 1930's. About 4 inches down came up a 74/76 on the Vdi.

It's in great shape nice find
Thank you very much.....The one thats all clean is just for reference. The one I found is toasted. I have soaking in mineral water and ill clean her up in a few weeks

Man that's a nice find.
I like to soak mine in penetrating oils.
Pour some in a Ziploc baggie and let it soak.
Love to see when you get it cleaned up a bit.

Great start with the Manticore. Congrats on the GRW token. Until I got into the hobby I didn't give much thought to tokens. Now they are a favorite find. Unlike a coin they are kinda more like a personal connection to history, a lot of times local to a specific area. Whether it be automotive, industrial, alcohol or political. I love em all. I did find a GRW token a few years back, not in much better shape than yours. Best part of the find was learning about something I had no idea existed. My favorite token so far has been an 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair token. Again nice save and good luck on future outings.
