Man I really like this 5.75 concentric coil

I have had it on my V. for months. Today I put my stocker back on and went on a two hour hunt. As soon as I got home I stuck the 5.75 back on it. I just like it better. I really don't know how to explain it, but it just paints me a better picture of whats under the ground. I just seem to dig less trash with this coil. The only down side that I see is I can't cover as much ground, but my treasure to trash ratio is just better.

I've been thinking hard about adding a 5.75 concentric to my stable. Most people seem to really like them.

Yep, the 5.75 concentric coil is a winner. Rusty Henry told me a while back that I needed to get the 5.75 concentric. It's super deep and separates well. Not to mention, it's light as a feather and yeah it talks to you better than the 9 x 8 coil does.

Can you give me some idea of what you mean by super deep?

I have heard the small 5.75" concentric is comparable to the standard coil in depth?

I now have 3 coils for my Tejon, the standard coil, the 13" Ultimate and my latest coil, the 8"x 6" SEF which I am testing out at the moment.

The small concentric is the next coil I have my eye on then I should have all bases fairly well covered....I hope.

I got a new Cibola coming and ordered the 5.75 concentric for it not the 5.75 DD though not a fan offf DD. First thing I will do is put 5.75 on it and will most likely never use the 8x9 stock coil. I 'm a fan of the smaller coils especially for the trash laden areas.

You heard right, The 5.75 concentric coil gets nearly the same depth as the 9 x 8. I dug a wheat penny at 8/9 inches using the small coil in my mild soil.

This coil makes my V. a whole different machine. Like I said it paints me a clearer picture of whats in the ground. I went to a trashy spot yeasterday with my stocker on and dug way more rusty iron than I do at the same spot with my 5.75 . I really like this 5.75. and the depth is good.

the 5.75 on the outlaw. is good to 5" deep in this ground and makes a intermittant beep at 6" the 8" concentric gets the 6" dime every time with a nice signal , and in all metal the 575 gets a 22 slug at 4.5" deep with a very diggable signal even to 5" deep and in normal ground in disc its a good trash picker.

Hi Gunnar,

I was wondering if the dime and .22 slug were freshly buried, that makes a big difference in depth of detection. I have found that a freshly buried target does not respond as well as a naturaly lost target that was in 'undisturbed' ground.

Yep that thing picks through trash like a Hobo in a K-Mart dumpster..

Concentrates work well in low mineralized soil, of all you guys using it, whats your soil type. I have a vaq, and want to buy a 5.75 but my soil here is mineralized.
So I believe I have to go with the DD coil. At least thats what most manufacturers say. Appreciate your input.

What you describe is very much how I view my Compadre. I might think about getting one for my Golden. I think part of why it paints a better picture is because it's round and not elliptical. I have a larger round concentric, and it also paints a good picture of what's under the ground, although on a larger scale.

I bought the 5.75 widescan for the V and love it. Coins that are close give a double beep. Like wheatymike says, it gives a much better picture. The last few times out its coins right off the bat. 7 wheats, merc, silver war nickel, and about a dozen modern and that was in about 40 minutes. Put my stock back on and it didnt stay there long. Either one you get will be great.

Thanks for your response Bill..appreciate it
