spent several hours this afternoon at Mclarty's north of vero beach....here is what i found...
access to the beach via mclartys parking lot was not happening...because of big heavy digging equipment and fencing...so i parked south of the museum about a mile grabbed up the excal 1000 and hiked it back up the beach....
2 big dozers...2 big diggers...and they are digging the sand out of the beach behind the museum and putting it higher up the bank...another 4 days of work the equipment driver said...
this is a DITCH 6 to 8 foot deep and about 30 foot wide behind the museum starting at the dune and going towards the beach...30 foot wide...now this ditch runs about 400 to 500 foot long along the dune...
the dozer driver just asked me to keep an eye out for the machines and be carefull becuase they were moving around beach...i worked the water line up about 10 feet and just spent a lot of time dreaming about what was laying at the bottom of that ditch...i will be back there monday morning...
