I have 2 coils for the mark 1 LTD.One cable is 5 ft and the other is 8 foot...Why the difference in length.

The longer coil cable is for hip mounting purposes, These old Tekentics housings are a bit on the heavy side so some users prefer to hip mount.
Actually, It's more of not being balanced very well because some of the Tek users have modified and placed the housings underneath the arm rest which greatly distributes the weight to the back and improves balance.
