Marley and Me

Hello Friends,

I've just watched ' Marley & Me ' and it reminds me of my Golden Lab, Boomer. When Boomer was one year old, I took him to the county dog pond to get him his first license. While there, a man dressed in an officers uniform, from the U.S. Customs Service, took a liking to Boomer and the rest is history, as they say. Boomer went to live with his new handler and received specialized training to become a boarder patrol dog to help keep drugs out of America. I miss Boomer more than words alone can possibly express. Marley & Me is a fantastic family movie and, if you haven't watched it yet, you really need to rent this one my friends. But, when you do, buy a big box of Kleen-X too. Enjoy.

I'm gonna chime in on this one. For me, a movie is not good unless I shed a few tears. I want to be moved emotionally in one way or another in a movie, but Marley and Me was just to much for me to handle. I had to stop watching the movie and I can't remember the last time that happened to me. It is a tear jerker x 10. Good movie, but I would not watch it with young children because it is so sad.

I haven't seen Marley and Me, but I watched, Where the Red Fern Grows, again, it had been a long time since I last saw it! It is about a boy back in the 40's or 50's earning enough money to buy two hound puppies and raised them to hunt coons, so he could get their hides and make money for the family! It is sad at the end and a good, heart-warming story about how different it was back years agp when I was growing up....I cried at the end of it, so if Marley and Me is even sadder then I would flood my house with tears! I read the book, Lassie Come Home and then the movie and I cried through both reading and seeing them! I am very emotional and cried and cried when I saw the movie, Joan of Ark back in the late 40's or early 50's! Maybe I can see Marley and Me sometime, but won't be renting it...just have to catch it on TV sometime, if it is shown on the movie channels! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

MaBetty, I watched Marley & Me via Netflix membership. Netflix is only $10.00 a month plus tax. I also bought the Roku player for $60.00. That comes with a remote and allows you to access the movies instantly. Great player and great service, which has unlimited viewing. You can go On-Line and view your account, add movies to your queve or watch them on your computer if you wish. I watch most of the movies on my TV but do watch them occassionally on my lap-top computer. I think you'd like Netflix. Just about anything you watch on cable TV can be watched on Netflix for a fraction of the cost per month. Check it out. Go to Netflix

Sorry, Martin, but financially I cannot take on any more monthly payments! If I could, I would get Medic Alert for myself, as my cousin Virginia worries about me falling down and not being able to get help soon enough...like if I should break a hip! I cannot do my own yardwork so I do have to pay someone to do it for me and that isn't cheap....costs me $100.00 a month depending on how many times the lawn needs cutting for my neighbor Glenn to mow and trim but doesn't take care of the leaves and old stems in my flower beds or my shrubs to be trimmed! I receive very little SS and my IRA is being depleted fast, so I have to count every penny....the same as I have been doing for years and years! I may have to change my Internet service as ATT-U-Verse for my phone, computer and TV is really getting expensive, but it is the only entertainment I have, as I don't do or go anywhere else............so I do the best I can with what I already have! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
