Thanks for the story and the pictures. Awesome finds for sure. I don't know for sure, but the "arrow" looking thing looks a little like a wedge for wooden hammer/axe handles. Drive it in to tighten them up, then knock off the "sticking out" portion. Serrations would make it easier to break off. Like I said, I'm not positive.

I did end up doing electrolysis on the halves and the barber. They came out pretty nicely. I don't have any pics. I supplimented the electrolysis with toothpaste highly diluted with water. No real micro abrasions that I could see. (versus baking soda my previous method)

NevTrac, I didn't take a picture, but the arrow shaped thing is very thin, I could bend it.
