Max number of coils you can input to ORX remote

Well-known member
I have 2 hf coils and one X35 coil for my ORX.
If I got a fourth ( x35 11”) can they all be logged into
the remote and toggled between for easy coil changes?

Yes they can . . . I know I have 8 coils on one of our units (need to pull some off that are from people that I loaded programs into their coils) and there is still space to add another coil.

The only downside with a bunch of coils is that on V4.0+ you can't name the coil anymore - it uses the serial number so when you switch coils you have to look at coil numbers . . . what we started doing was put a small sticker on the coils with a number and enter that coil in the same slot on multiple controllers / headphones to make it easier to select the right coil.

Good idea Andy, I always need to go to the three coils I have to find the right #. This will save time, I never though of putting a sticker on it. Glad to see you back on forum more.

Thanks Andy,
I had to return a faulty 9” x35 coil and wound up getting a whole other ORX
with a 9” x35 coil cause it wasn’t a vast amount more as I bought the coil
before the price drop. So now I have 2 ORX and 4 coils. If each of the ORX
remotes have the same 4 coil serial numbers entered, will the coils work with
either remote? I’m going to try out later but figured I’d ask anyway

Yes, the coils will work on multiple units as long as the serial number is entered on each . . . . I have several coils and several controllers . . . and swap between them when we do training classes with no issues (including switching between and ORX and Deus)

That’s great and I suspected that to be the case. I’m charging up ORX #2 and the 9” X35 it came with so I will enter the serial numbers
later tonight. I’m keeping them in the same order on both remotes so I will soon memorize which coil is in which slot.
Next to see it the Mi6 can work with either remote or if it is unit specific. This I suspect might be.

The answer as to whether an XP Mi6 pinpointer would be usable
On a second ORX and remain paired to both is yes. Very cool
