Maybe it was TTF

I'm fairly new to the hobby, only been in it 2 years now, but been thru numerous detectors. Only had the Etrac 2 months, have been trying to use Andy's coin pattern with multi tone but sometimes it just gets to be too much so then I run it using 4 tone conductive and it's easier for me. Yesterday and today I tried TTF using Goes4ever's settings in a neighbors yard I have been over with my Xterra 705, MXT Pro, and Etrac using the aforementioned settings. Yesterday I recovered 18 clad coins and 2 earrings and today another 10 coins. All coins are clad and in the 4" to 8" range. Many were right next to other junk targets or 2 coins of different denominations. What really surprised me though is that 8 coins were nickels and most were not typical nickel readings being due to their proximity to other targets, amount of corrosion, and depth. One nickel in a hole that was corroded and free of other targets 6" deep read 14-18. I've been digging all good repeatable signals and anything near 12-18 due to looking for a wedding ring that reads in this range and allowing for bounce. TTF does make me slow down and be able to separate targets. This is using the stock coil.

If there would be one piece of unasked for advice I would share with a newbie, it would be go slow and take the time to observe and learn what that machine is telling u about targets. It is the operator rather than the machine that dictates success in the search, allowing that a blind hog dtill finds an acorn sometimes.

I love TTF
