I recently bought a few tesoro machines from different individuals that aren't on the forums,as far as I know. One tesoro I bought was from a person that his father was a Tesoro dealer, and this one was his dad's personal machine. But anyhow, we messaged a few times and he gave me some insight of prior things that had happened with the tesoro founder and owner, and I thought I'd share, maybe some of you guys were there at the seeded hunt. Never know, but a cool short story.

Nice story, and yes, it was a sad day when I found out that they fired all their employees.

Yes, indeed, a sad day when Tesoro quit the industry. They has a few model glitches here and there when Jack was running it, but for the most part it started to struggle after he 'retired' and turned it over to his two sons. I still own and use my two favorite Tesoro models, as well as a model that got me hooked on Tesoro back in July of '83. They all work and work well, but there have been too many advancements here and there, especially with visual an audio Target iD as well as improved detection depth (a Tesoro weak point in the industry) which got too many newcomers and a lot of then-current hobbyists shifting to the competitor's detectors. Today, I have a few models to complement my outfit, but I never travel anywhere without ones or two Tesoro's along as well. I miss Jack, and really miss Tesoro.
