MD induced (near) heart attack

Found this earring while hunting on a beach in a fairly ritzy town. I doubt it's a real diamond, but those first few moments after I took it out of the ground were exciting.
Found a bunch of clad coins, and a 1996 Swiss 10 Rappen.

I found a ring last week that did the same thing to me. When it came out of the dirt all I could see was the sparkle and the reds and blues. It might be white topaz but I am relatively sure that it is not anything better than that. Gave me a thrill for a little while. I plan on taking it to a jeweler just to be certain. Nothing like a good thrill but the real thing. At my age the real thing might induce a real heart attack.

I never had much luck in the ritzy part of town or beaches but anyone that can pull an earring out of the sand speaks for itself...

I almost passed this one by. I'm used to getting "bad" hits, and routinely skip anything less than 40 - 45 on my AT Pro. This came is at 47 - 53. I know that 49 and 50 are almost always nickels, and anything that fluctuates is probably junk. Lumps of foil are near 50, and fluctuate, as did the earring. The beach I was on is super clean, so I luckily decided to dig anything over 40 today.
The setting looks silver and the backing is gold (has a 14K stamp on it), so I'm pretty sure it's not a real diamond.
My problem is...I didn't pay enough attention to it. The backing is on it, so that probably means that someone took out their earrings and put them somewhere safe. I didn't search the area around the find close enough....it's twin is probably still there.
This was down about 4 inches, so the AT Pro can most definitely find small targets!!!
