Dear Friends in Christ Jesus,
Metal detecting is only a past time for me. It's something to do, in my senior years, to keep me active and fit. If the 'spoils' come, that would be wonderful but maybe the journey is just as valuable? I'm delighted, beyond words, that God has healed me of the leukemia and given me another chance at life. Now it's up to me to do something with what God has given me. Recently my gracious heavenly Father blessed me with a apartment community that's like living in a Holiday Inn. My surroundings are peaceful and my neighbors a joy to know. I am so thankful for all God has done in my life. On the back of my Ford Ranger pickup truck, the tailgate says "River City Treasure Club" then give the email address and under that it says "Jesus Is Coming Soon ~ Are You Ready". I have had numerous people pull up beside me in traffic and give me a thumbs up. If my little sign can touch the heart of but one person, who is lost, and seeking for a answer to why he or she is alive yet feels lost, then the cost to have the tailgate printed was worth it. To me, designing the website for River City Treasure Club was yet another way to wittiness for Jesus. Obviously it is set up to help those 'New' to the hobby of metal detecting but it's also there to encourage others, who may be emotionally wandering, to seek Jesus before it's too late. There are many here, on this Christian Forum, who believe we are living in the last days of earths history and I, for one, agree with them. We need to share our faith with as many as we can with what time is left to do so. I know many of you are far more experienced than I in this hobby and I'm glad you choose to humor me by answering my questions, which seem elementary to you maybe. Before becoming an Seventh-day Adventist, I was a licensed pastor with the Pentecostal Christian Church and hold an Honorary Doctorate Degree for my work in helping homeless children, in the Philippines. In my many trips to the islands, I have tried, with all my heart, to make the lives of those little ones a better place to be. And yet there is much I must learn to become all He wants me to be. My journey is a daily struggle to walk as Jesus walked and I must confess I don't always measure up to His expectations. Yet I know He forgives me and continues to give me opportunities to make things right with Him. We, as Christians, are so blessed to have a Savior who loves us so much that He willingly died for us. For all you vets, here's something you will understand; Jesus took the bullet for us so we could live. That's called love. I'm so glad God has placed me within your lives and looking forward to seeking each of you in heaven, when Jesus returns to take us home. Once there, we'll not need to seek treasure any further because the 'Treasure of The Universe' will be right there with us.
