Nice ring congrats on sitting that guy straigh I hate guys like that too. Howard

Good Job

Do What I do, tell em' nope my parole officer said I needed a hobby to help control my anger and follow it up scraching yor ankle complaining about the ankle braclet..... ;~) You never have problems with anybody after that.... O forgot good find, and showing a fella the green machine. Oh did the ring make that "ding" and sparkle like the whites commercial??

Great ring.

I tend to concentrate on the money side of things myself and I consider myself a hobbyist. It's the only way I can figure out to keep score. I only compete with myself 99 percent of the time anyway. Usually a better operator will outfind an amateur even if he has a top end machine.

I like trying out other machines and freely let folks try mine. I really liked the Minelab X-Terra 70 I got to try for an hour last year. FYI I found more in an hour with this guys X-Terra than he did in 2 hours and I had never even swung one before. He liked my 2500 too. Everybody who has tried my Ace 250 has like dit and thought they were cheap at 200 bucks.

Good story. Glad you won.

Chris

Nice ring and great story, too!:clapping:He really got his "come up'ns" I bet he goes out and buys an Ace. Heck, everybody should. Thanks again for sharing, that just made my day!

I just defended the Ace 250 on another forum. A guy said that a Chinese detector was better. I told him different!

WTG TH I love my Ace250 it's perfect for me. Nice ring BTW. WTG

I've had the 70 for a few weeks now and really like it. I also own an XLT and hardly ever use it! Far too much button pushing and too high a numeric resolution to be stable. If you get to know the Ace, then you will will hold your own with a high end machine very nicely. I much prefer the ace to the XLT for said reasons. If Garretts improved the audio, I'll consider buying one again.

Awesome!!!

thank you guys , i was just kinda weird that this happen when i was just reading about it ..lol... he was just a smart ass paying alot of money for something
he cant control , see i bonded with my 250 , i can kinda tell what is in the ground before i look at the screen by sound , all about sensi control, and what u learn doing it . means get out and learn your detector .. i can say the ace is not a kids toy far from it ,, but its a starters machine because i started on it ..
so if i see that guy agian hes going to get a old YELLER smack in the face
THANKS GUYS u all have a good one

Knowing your detector is very important. My confidence with the Ace is very high. I wish I knew my F-70 like I do my Ace. Just no time in my life to detect. I take about 10 minuets to read Find mall. I'm working 6 - 10 hour days. I just bought a house in the country and I am doing a little dry wall work on it before I paint it and move in. So after work I am at the house till 10 PM. I just bought a 4x4 truck so I have been moving stuff into the house on my free time. The forest is at the edge of my property and I haven't even walked into it yet. Good point is I have a new place to MD.

Back to the subject. Last Sunday, I net e guy MD'ing across the street when I was at my dad's house and wanted to see how he was doing. It was funny. He said," Your that big guy that is out here all the time MD'ing." He said he has had his Pioneer 1000 for three years and asked if I would show him how to use it. He thought if you turn everything to the max you would get top performance. Even the disc? He said he has never found a wheat cent. I showed him how to put a nickel on the ground and adjust the disc to pick up the nickel and higher, so he could get the good stuff. I told him how this forum was a great place to lean about MD'ing. Things that are simple and common knowledge to us is so because we share a wealth of information with each other. He doesn't do the net. I showed him a good place to start where some old hedges was removed and told him to MD the black dirt.

After a 30 minuet visit with my parents, I saw him MD'ing and asked how he was doing? He had the biggest smile and showed me an old presidential coin he found along with an IH cent. I congratulated him and told him to start filling in his holes.:nono:

We tend to take a lot of things for granted. I do believe the people of this forum because of their participation, produces a higher quality of a detectorest. As long as there are guys like this in my neighborhood I have nothing to worry about. But when I know any of you come to my town I'm in trouble.:punch:

I had posted somewhere awhile back this nice gentleman (not a a' hole) who asked how I was doing. We were both working our local ball park and he was hitting the lower football concession while I was working the baseball concession and bleachers. Well I pulled out my stash that I had to use 2 hands to hold it all while he had just "MAYBE" 6-8 coins. He asked about the Garrett and I told him I had done may homework and was checking all the websites and hearing nothing good about the ACE250. I told him "I guess what we have here kinda' proves it huh!" And he smiled...he was ok with it and said he was looking into a new unit but I believe he had one of the newer Whites so go figure.
