Metal crossed tree branches

Hi my name is dave and I'm new to the forum.
Today I found this metal object in a farmers field today, what it looks like to me is a dark grey metal with silver colour shining underneath. The object see.5 to be crossed branches Wouk some
 
Welcome aboard... looks like pot metal,if so probably from mid 1900s but hard to tell from pic...what era are other finds from?

I'm from kent England. I only have a maplins metal detector that cost me £140 but I still been finding things with it.
I will be looking to get one abit better in the future. But still having fun with what I have.
