Metal Detecting Dreaming

(To the tune of California Dreaming)

All the leaves are gone

Nice poem all but the pretend to pray, as I would hope you would get down and really pray a sincere prayer unto the Lord! Otherwise go and fulfill your California dreaming of :detecting: on a winter's day! May God Bless! Ma Betty

Yes you are right, that was only to fit the line from the original song. But you do bring up a great point Ma...how often when we pray do we pray in God's will for us? When we pray for things to be given to us or to be taken away from us do we sometimes not consider what God has planned for us, and how he uses the circumstances we are in for His glory. Yes much too often when we pray it is a prayer in name only.

Pray God's Will

When angry lips
Wish to render
Words to injure
A soul so tender
Then bow your head
In humble surrender
Pray God's will

When fleshly desires
Spark lustful passion
Blurring all things
In sinful fashion
Then bow your head
And seek God's ration
Pray God's will

When our fear
Make cowards of us all
Not trying to stand
Afraid we're going to fall
Then bow your head
And listen for His call
Pray God's will

You're right there Tony. Often our words in prayer are attempts at the manipulation of God.

They have more to do with what we want, or what we think is right, rather than yielding to God's way and will.

Thanks for your reply, Tony, and when we pray let us pray for ours' and others' needs and salvation and not just for wants, but we can pray for them, too, but only according to God's will by praying, Not my Will, oh Lord, but Thine be done! Jesus did this in the Garden before being crucified for He knew what He was going to have to go through and the suffering wouldn't be easy for He was both a human man and God with His humanity doing the sacrificing by bearing our many stripes of sin upon Himself and then dying but living again that we might have eternal life by our salvation and resurrection through Jesus being our Savior and Lord, for without Him no one can enter into His kingdom and dwell in His love forever more! Amen! Ma Betty
