It's not.
I sent it off to the "New England Meteoritical Services" and just received back their letter today. It starts, " Thank you for sending the sample for testing. Your sample is not meteoritical in origin. It is an igneous rock fragment, an iron-rich basalt."
Oh well, at least I know now. Alissa and I got a good chuckle nontheless. However, this "minor" set back
has only motivated me to search for more space rocks... ooorrrrr, hot rocks, whichever comes first!
