MF DD

How many of you have tried several of the xterra coils, and come to love the 10.5MF DD? I have used the 3khz, the 6" HF DD, the 5x10DD, and the 10.5 MF DD, and have come to the conclusion that the MF DD will stay on for most of my older park and older less trashy area hunts. Yes, it's a little heavy, but the depth is excellent and the TID comes in clear for both ends of the spectrum. It's a little unstable in highline areas, but the depth still seems to be there even when lowered to around 20. Don't get me wrong, I still like the other coils for hunting in diff areas. The HF's are great in trash areas and I like the 3khz when bottle caps are overwhelming(DD is like a magnet to bottle caps).

I have recently found two IH pennies that I went over many times with the HF, and determined that they were just to deep for the HF coils to get a good read on.
I originally bought this coil just for finding the deeper coins, but have come to like it for regular hunting as well.
I prefer the 5x10 when hunting for newer coins and jewelry and the 6" DD for older trash areas.

I guess each coil has it's own solid purpose, I'm just surprised how much I do like the MF DD!

Mine never comes off my XT70. Smooth running even at 30 sens and did I say deep!!!!

I use the 10.5 MF DD on my 705 a when I can, very deep, but I would use it a lot more if it was waterproof.

We (wife and I) always keep one of the waterproof coils on our XT-70.

But when we our hunting together in and around water the 10.5 MF DD stays home.

Sure wish ML would have made the 10.5 waterproof.

Can't afford a WOT.

Good Hunting

Came to the same conclusion, the 10.5 MF DD almost never comes off my Xterra 70. The only time I take it off is when I detect schools and then I use the 5x10 HF, and that's not too often.

My 10.5" DD MF coil used to split time with the 6" DD HF coil, but not so much anymore as I like the extra depth that the 10.5" offers and now only use the 6" DD in extremely trashy areas. As far as not being waterproof, you can easily make the 10.5" DD coil waterproof if needed...

The only coil I have used for about the past 6 years is the 10.5 7.5 MF DD coil and I pretty much only look for the old deeeep coins.

Please explain or maybe post a link.

Don't want to break mine, to expensive to replace.

Good Hunting
