MI-6 glitch

I had a problem on an outing yesterday that was not pleasant at all. I was hunting in a small park with a little creek running through it and was near a culvert next to a street when all of a sudden the pin pointer wouldn't pair with the remote. It would work manually but I tried everything to pair it and it would not. It had been working perfectly and I have used it almost daily without any symptoms at all. So I left and went home. None of my devices had low battery indication either. I proceeded to try it off and on during the evening and it would pair and then immediately loose the connection. It appeared confused. Frustrated I just left it and decided to wait till this morning and fully charge everything and reload Version 4 to everything. It worked and is working just fine now. After a lot of trial and error, reading over the instructions and the Ver. 4 user manual, I have come to the conclusion I must have encountered an interfering signal from a passer byer that corrupted the signal of the remote.and the pin pointer and could not regain programming between the two. Go figure. Of course I was thinking all sorts of things and knew it had not been dropped or abused. You know a very sinking feeling when the most favorite toy went belly up. All's well that ends well.

I had the same problem yesterday when a passenger jet flew over at about 3,000 feet, the noise the pinponter was making almost blew my ears out. I don't know if it was a coincidence but it's weird that it happened at the exact same time, as soon as the jet was gone it stopped. That was the first time anything like that has happened and it was fine the rest of the day.

Wow that would be shocking. I did also notice a noise but not like you described. My problem also included a problem with the unit not shutting down and the light staying on. After a lot of button pushing it did shut off, but would not pair until I removed the pin pointer repaired only to have it fail almost instantly and then the light would stay on.
As surprised as I was to have that happen to me, It is explained in the Declaration of Conformity section of the MI-6 user manual, that under Article 15 of FCC rules paragraph 2, it says this device must accept any interference received including interference that may cause undesired operation. I just hope it happens infrequently.
I have always thought how nice it would be if XP had put a Mini SD slot for keeping and reloading the custom programs on a mini sd card on the remote or the headphone units. Good luck in the future Foiled.

Thanks, sounds like you got a bad one, bummer. That was the only time mine has given me a problem, I've had it for a couple months and it has worked flawlessly, odd fluke I hope.

No it is ok after reloading Ver 4 on the Deus. I went out yesterday evening and this morning and found a bunch of clad and a ring. The MI-6 worked great. Best pin pointer I have owned.

Yeah some people have reported problems but it's usually due to when version 4 was downloaded. Version 4 was released in March and there have been two quiet updates to address certain issues since then. A reload of the current software usually resolves the problems.
