Thanks Lazy.
All the captions for the pictures were incorrect. The Editor must have decided to write his own captions. There is $849 in the Photo. They are the finds from my first 12 months with the Ace and not as he claimed, since I've owned it.
Also, the tip about putting tape over the Speaker comes from John, one of the forum members here. He doesn't post on the Garrett part of findmall, but I know he reads it. In my original copy, I gave him my thanks for telling me about it, but it was omitted from the article. I'd just like to take the opportunity to say thanks John for letting me know about it. That's how I use the Ace now, when I don't want to wear headphones (which is usually).
If you look in the photo taken with the $1 coin under the sniper coil, you'll see that the coil is angled slightly nose down. What's going on, as per the tip in the article, the pinpoint button is engaged and the Sniper coil is picking up the coin, but not the pole that it's beside. The photo was put in there to show the sort of angle that's required.
I hope that the article is of use to both Ace users and also an insight to non Ace users of what it is capable of.
Mick Evans.

Gold Gem & Treasure it"s an Aussie mag mostly about nugget hunting but they put some gem & coin hunting in there to.
if it"s owned by minelab then they don't mind putting in articles about other brand detectors

The good news is though, most Aussie detectorist hunt gold and not coins! So that is why it is so gold hunting oriented. I believe the figure is about 70% although some in the industry feel that that figure is closer to 90% (maybe it is.) I know minelab has the market cornered over here, which means that most Aussie detectorists think that there is no other brand worth using.

It's not at the moment Bernie, but if history is anything to go by, then after this month, I think that you will find that it will be available on the Australian Garrett importers website. He asked me to write the article as he has with others. Their articles ended up being posted there. If you typed up "goldminingcentre" into your browser, then you should be able to find him fairly easily.
I'm pretty sure that if you got onto the Docs Place flag on the Findmall Gold hunting forum, I'm pretty sure that he sells the Australian Gold Gem and Treasure Mag as well.
If all else fails, after the end of the month, next time a newbie comes on asking for tips, I'll post the original of the article for them. It's a bit different to what went into the mag.
