Micro jewelry hunting...

Searched with the G2 for the 1st time at the sandy volleyball court for about 30 minutes in our city park. Here's the take. The penny is just there for size comparison. Tis a sensitive unit with that 5" coil! BTW...the earring on the left is .925 silver goldplated.

Nice going.

The 5 x 10 elliptical DD coil is nearly as sensitive as the 5 inch DD coil is and it covers ground faster.

:teknetics:The Gold Bug Pro with the 11" DD coil is really good at very small pieces of jewelry too. :fisher:

Yeah, but the 5 x 10 DD coil will stomp a mud hole into the 11 inch DD coil when it comes to finding micro gold jewelry.:)

It's almost too sensitive. I have trouble finding some of the really small stuff.

smaller-size targets. I get good hits with it on a lot of small earrings, especially gold, that many other detectors struggle to hit on. The 5" coil is the main reason I like the G2 and is the coil I keep mounted on mine all the time.

Monte --

Have you ever run the 5x10 DD elliptical on the G2? Curious as to what you think of that coil -- I'm wanting to add one...I hunt a relic site that in spots has little trash and scattered good targets (so you need to cover some ground), and other parts of the same site that are full of square nails, where good separation/unmasking ability is necessary; I could see the 5x10 being a nice compromise between the 5" and the 11" coils...
