Midnight died this morning

Our cat Midnight dies this morning. We had gotten up at 6:00am to get ready for the day. I had to pick up and drop off the bus kids at school and had a dr. appointment at 8:45am and then we had Nicloles funeral to go to at 10:00am. Was about ready to leave to get the bus kids and thought I would check on Midnight. He was still alive. I got his water bowl and put some water on my finger and put it to his mouth. He kind of raised his head, opened his mouth as to try and take some, and tried to meow, but was only a hiss, like he was saying "thank you", then he kind of moved his feet and opened his mouth again and laid his head down and died. I really think he waited until we got up so he could tell us goodbye in his own way as best he could. Buried him out back next to Joans pet minature pincher that died 7 years ago. Will miss that cat. He was a faithful companion. Joan is really hit hard by it. We had him almost 11 years, from a kitten.

I will be praying for yall as I know how it is to lose a pet.

Oh man I am so sorry........ I have a cat too and love them. I will pray for your lost and your family.

Sorry to hear about Midnight. Pets have always been an extension of our family....losing a pet is NEVER easy. Thinking of you both.

So sorry to hear about your and Joan's loss because I know how painful it is! Let the tears flow and each will get through the grieving with the hurting getting less and less! Takes time for all healings to be done and yours' will come also, but you will never forget Midnight! The love you had from him and to him will forever last! After grieving, maybe a new kitten will be from God into your lives to love as much as you loved Midnight! I never did with Tony, as my ill health keeps me from being able to take good care of any animals! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks y'all for the heartfelt prayers and words. Even our dogs know he is gone, somehow.

Praying for you both.

my cat of 19 yrs died in Nov and she did the exact same thing. I kept putting off going into the bathroom where she was (and now I regret that) because I knew I needed to take her to have her put to sleep. When I finally went in, she raised her head and I petted her neck and she just immediately layed it back down and she was gone. I feel sure she was waiting on us to come. Animals are so smart. WE still miss her so much.

losing a pet hurts just like losing a member of the family.the LORD gave us this animals to serve man and not to abuse them.so many animals are tortured and abused in this world by hateful people which in time will pay for this.we have a pet cemetary on our property seven dogs and four cats.god bless those who care for his little friends.

sorry to hear it brother, last year was a BAD year for us, we lost two cats.......and just 2 months ago we lost our cocker. They are part of the family, and very hard to part with them
