Today was a milestone at the park I started hunting this spring. I dug up my 1000th coin which was a Virginia state quarter about 4" deep. It continues to yield a high volume of clad but I managed a 1944D wheatie and a Trafari brooch. The brooch is just costume jewelry but it did ring in the gold range and when I first dug it up I thought I had something! Oh well, an interesting find just the same.
