Have a chance to purchase a new in the box Minelab 305. Have never had a Minelab. Would this be a good one to start out with and learn on.

Don't know but good luck....hope it works out for you in getting a good detector! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

pretty sure it is the updated Xterra 30. What kind of deal are you getting? I have one and it is a nice light weight machine.

MineLab makes a great machine, I have the X-Terra 70 and love it.

It is the updated version of the X-Terra 30 and it has had some significant improvements. Go to gerrysdetectors.com (He is one of our sponsors on this forum) and click on the Minelab Logo. go down near the end and it will give you the complete information on the 305

Yes for sure I started with the x-terra fifty and now have the 70. The 305 is a new version 30 with more features it will accept 18.75 coils and 7.5. Go to the x-trra forum and click on faq faq post at top it has a ton of information on the x-terra detectors.
I think you will like it. I think it is a 12 segment detector.

Manual GB. Should be a great machine.

Hey Doug,

To be sure, everyone's opinion may be different regarding the ideal metal detector, for those 'New' to the hobby of metal detecting, but here's three that measure up in value, quality ability, reputation and warranty. In my opinion, the X-Terra 305 is the best of the three in that it has far better balance making it easier to swing for several hours without fatigue. Shown are the Minelab X-Terra 305, the Garrett Ace 250 and the Tesoro Cibola.

Thanks you all. May give it a try. I can always update later. I have the 250 from Garrett and like it. Just wanted to try a Minelab.

Hey Mike, can get it for $299. I see Kellyco has them for $398 with some extras. Can your buddy up there get me one? I don't have to go with this deal if I don't want to.

let me personally say I have used one, my buddy owns it, and it BLOWS away the ace 250, not even in the same class! you will like it. It is a nice machine

I never buy from the Big K.

Big K gets alot of detectors that have problems I hear . The freebies lure you in . Mike's buddy is an honest man.
