I own both coils.
Used the 10.5 DD 7.5kHz a lot when I first got it. Average success.
Now it sits mostly in the closet unless I'm hunting a large open area.
I keep the stock coil on the XT-70 and the 3kHz 9" on the XT-705 which I find works well for most of the areas I hunt just south of Atlanta, mixed red clay and fresh water beaches.
The 3kHz coil (coin killer, great depth) can find some small jewelry, but the stock coil finds more.
I've never found small jewelry with the 10.5 DD 7.5 khz, but maybe that's just me.
I see you have a Vaquero, so do I and it find's small jewelry like tiny ear ring posts at 2" to 3''s and small ear rings down to 5'.
The XT can compete with that using the 6" DD 18.75 coil but not the others in my experience.
Of course you have a much better chance of knowing what your digging with the XT.

Thanks Denny - I did a series of videos on the Vaquero, under '53Silver. I think it's one of the best md's on the market today, out performing md's much higher in cost. Most of my recreational hunting is for coins, so the 3kHz is probably the way I'll go after I use the 705 for a while this Spring. Really looking forward to running the 705 in real world conditions and comparing it to my MXT as well.
You will love the 3kHz coil when you can get one, but don't sell the 7.5kHz stock coil short.
Some of my best finds have been with that coil.
Your videos on the V were instrumental in my deciding to add one to my arsenal.
Good compliment to my X-Terra's.
"I think that is whats nice about the XTerra 705.
The coil choices and the 3 different frequencies put it in a category to fit many different needs and do it well.
The XTerra with it's 18,78 kHz and the Vaquero with 14 kHz are similar in that respect but I also like the 3 kHz that the Vaquero can't offer.
I would like to try the Vaquero. What is your favorite coil for coin/rings hunting in average to hot ground? HH"
I agree Stylesjay, 3 different frequencies are great.
I'm a newbie with the V and only have the stock coil.
For coins and rings, I like the stock coil, for coins only I like the 3 kHz best (but it will find rings also).
The V works well on small jewelry, about what you would get with 6" 18.75 coil on the XT.
I do have some problems ID'ing deep iron with the V, but maybe that's because I'm new to it.
Good Hunting
