Thanks for all the great comments. I just heard today that the concentric 3kHz coil maybe available in a couple months. New to the X-Terra, I did not know they had a problem with them. I was told it is some kind of design problem.

Having just purchased a 3Khz coil a few weeks ago and not used it yet, I was a little concerned about there possibly being a problem with them. Especially since it was a bit hard finding a dealer that actually had them. So, I emailed Minelab directly and asked them if they were experiencing any problems with their 3Khz coils. Brian at Minelab emailed me the very next day saying that he was not aware of any issues with these coils. He also said that if I did happen to have any problems that they would take care of it but to his knowledge there were no issues. I hope that this may put some that were worried by this at ease. It did me. By the way.........very prompt on the response by email. I appreciated that.

Thanks for the response. Good to hear there aren't any issues with this coil - Mike/'53Silver

I'm always amazed at the various responses we get when it comes to everyone's preferred coil. Like many I would love to own a 3KHz. coil, but in my ground concentrics just don't cut the mustard and yet for others, they are the best thing since ice cream & apple pie. In my own case hopefully the day will come when ML comes out a 10.5" DD LF coil, know that I would be 1st in line except for the fact that Digger would probably be there ahead of me..

Hi Mike,

I can't comment on the 9" concentric 3kHz coil as I've never used one. However the 10.5" DD 7.5kHz is my favourite coil for the X-Terra 705 & rarely comes off it now. I've been using the 10.5" coil for coin hunting on playing fields, ovals etc for about 3 months now & it is fantastic!!! I find the 10.5" DD 7.5kHz hits much harder than the 5"x10" 18.75kHz elliptical & the target ID is also more stable with the 10.5" coil. It does have a little more bulk to it than the elliptical & is heavier, but I'm finding lots more coins with this coil so I accept the weight penalty.
